Default Help identifying this car

We were out driving today and we spotted this car.

I know I have seen one of these before but I am unsure what it is.

Can someone please identify it?

Cheers
Coll

It looks a lot like this.

If you were on the other side of that intersection, the red light / speed camera could have got a pretty pic of the number plate for you.

Looks like a 1928 Chev tourer, but can't be with the rear suicide doors

It seemed really long...almost like a 1930's limo.

It was covered in a layer of dust so someone has found themself a lovely barn find resto project.

Come to think of it, could be a 1927 Dodge tourer. Looks very similiar to the one that a club member took 15 years to restore!

Here’s a link for you.

I'll put my money on a 1920's Cadillac but it also looks similar to a Desoto of the same era.

I'm thinking Holden bodied Hudson Essex Tourer but without seeing the grill or wheel centres it hard to be sure - a lot of similar bodies were put on different imported chassis.

Looks a lot like the add for the 1923 Packard on this site

http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/Ol...cConvertibles/

Its the 21st car photo down. Rear suicide door, canopy shape, ridge on bonnet all match, just not the wheels.

So my guess is an early 1920's Packard, if they made them in RHD that is.

Think this is it, if not someone was doing a pretty good job of copying the design. Looks like they updated the wheels (modding cars back in the 1920/30's )

Well done. Possibly a later year model when they had wire wheels or they may even have been an option in 1922 http://www.motorsnaps.com/v/Cars+P/Packard/?g2_page=2
