Default AU spring question

I'm going to replace the struts on my AU1 Fairmont Ghia next week. While they are out I was thinking about replacing the springs.
I only want to go down a bit so was thinking about putting in AU2/3 springs. The AU2/3 came out with a spring a little shorter didn't they?
Anyway my question is are the rear springs on the IRS AU2/3 the same as the AU2/3 self leveling suspension? ie is there any difference?

Thanks

Matt

If you wait 2 months you can buy the XR springs from my AU. Its got IRS so will fit perfectly, would be similar to kings lows and would not effect your insurance cause they are "factory"

Just let me know, I'm not in any rush but if you want them just let me know and I'll organise myself to do mine at a similar time.

So do you have IRS or live (beam) rear??

If it's live, Caspers IRS rear springs are no use to you. You could get a set of front and rear King Springs for about $220. Just get the 'Low' springs, as Super Low or Ultra Low will be lower than XR ride height. King Low will almost match the AU2/3 XR ride height.

Yep Fairmont Ghia = standard IRS
I'm just looking to get the car on the road at the moment. It needs some TLC as I've rescued it from the scrap heap!
It has a leaky strut and I was thinking about putting in a slightly lower spring and being on strick budget I was thinking about secondhand AU2/AU3 IRS springs.
That would bring it down to the AU2/AU3 spec. If I can get the XR springs I think they are a little lower again.
My main aim is to get it on the road and just drive it. Sorry to sound so boring.

Well, you can have mine for $100 (all 4 of them) when you are ready. Just let me know and I will make sure they are here for you.
