Default CD player not working, one week old

Well, it seems Autobarn sold me a dodgy cd player.
I've had it for just over a week, tonight it decided to stop reading/ejecting cds. Obviously the cd drive in it is faulty because everything else works perfectly.

I'm gonna go into Autobarn next chance I get (probably Sunday) and demand an exact replacement. If they refuse, I'll tell them I'm never spending another cent there (and considering the amount of money I spend on cars, this would be a massive loss for them) and that I'll tell everybody I know not to shop there.

Obviously I don't blame Autobarn for the cd player stuffing up as they didn't make it but it will be interesting to see how they handle this. If they somehow blame it on me I'll make a scene.
They've ripped me off before so I don't know why I went back.

For the record, I don't plan to buy from them again anyway unless I'm desperate...
I'll just be saying the whole "I'll never spend another cent..." thing to give them a scope on what they could potentially lose by not replacing the unit.

I'm a tad tired of their poor service anyway.
I really should've gone to the locally run autoshop I usually shop at but they only sell Kenwood's low-range products which are of inferior build quality to the product I bought (Phillips headunit).
Kenwood's expensive stuff is great though, I have a kenwood head unit which is awesome... but anyway...

If Autobarn decide not to give me a replacement, they could be losing over a thousand bucks this year alone; (new struts all round for the falcon/two 10" subs, amp, sub boxes and splits for the next car.)
They'd better not stuff me around.

Get over it, have a rant IF they dont replace it for you. Not their fault if it comes out of the box broken the best they can do is replace it or refund the money.

They didn't really sell you a dodgy headunit. They sold you a perfectly fine headunit with a manufacturing defect. They will most surely replace it under the manufactureres warranty so I don't quite see what the rant is all about... If you want to be angry at anyone, make it Phillips.

Yeah bit early to have a rant. Electronic's fail and you can't hold the distributer at fault, surely you don't expect them to test every single unit!!!!

They may either send it off for repair orr replace it.
If you go in there with the whole "I'm not spending another cent" then they will not replace it. Frankly, I bet they do not GAF whether you shop there or not.

+1 for all the above posts. So what if it doesn't work. Only moan about it when they won't replace it but since you haven't even tried yet, whats the point? You could buy one direct from the manufacturer and it could still have problems...

Are they out to get you too? I thought I was paranoid.
They sold me a dodgy airfreshener that ran out of smelly stuff in a month!
ACA will want to hear from us.

I really do hope you get a salesman with a similar attitude to yours and see if you like being spoken to the same way. Then there will be the chance you'll never be welcome back in their store to spend another cent.

Unfortunately it's a sad fact of life. Products do fail, hence a warranty. It's how they handle the complaint (ie the warranty procedure) that matters.

So I would suggest, go into the store and politely ask mention what has happened. Good chance they'll send it off to be repaired.
