Default Trend 2 litre modifications anyone?

Hi there. HAPPY owner of a 2013 Trend manual. She's done 75000kms with no issues at all other than recall for some front suspension fault. Got 70k out of the tyres (Michelin) and have replaced with Continentals, basically on price as the Michelins were very expensive. Anyways, has anyone modified the motor in any way? I see on some UK sites that the air filter can be replaces which gives it some more get up and go in lower revs as it is a bit of a slug under 3500rpms. Any ideas that can assist. No intention to spend thousands as I'll probably by an ST rather than spend a fortune on this one. Any ideas welcome. Also, has anyone got one of the new ecoboost ones that had my model prior? Be interested to hear the differences. Cheers
