results: so I sweet talked Ford into switching on the trailer config in the computer for me. The sensors now work correctly, don't detect the towball but do detect other things I am reversing up to. And the trailer lights now work! even though the LED lights blink fast.
I am too scared to plug in the old MA module 6G9N-14B192-AC to see if that works as well. If anyone in Syd wants a 6G9N-14B192-AC tow module I can give you a good price...
