Hey all!!!
I did a search no luck....Anyways i have an auII xr6 Irs, with the stock 17inch rims. It has been lowered with sl at the front and ssl's at the rear. Anyways i had a car load last night, and the car scraped nearly everywhere it went. I love the look of it and i dont want to change the springs but will putting 18inch tyres or 19inch tyres lift the car a little of the ground. Silly question yes i know, but need some input. thanks |

19's may lift it a few mm overall but generally not all that much as the overall rolling diameter is the same. I did notice my 19" rims and tyres are a few mm taller than the 18's and more again than the 17" rims but we are only talking a total of about 10mm or so. That means the overall ride height has raised about 5mm in total (and the rims fill out the guards by another 5mm).

the car slighty raised a few mm with my 19's, bout 5mm if that, i still have factory suspension in my car, 19's the ride is fairly good and i live in a rural area as well. The handling is alot sharper as well.

I found a practical solution to this problem, take it really slow over speed bumps and driveways, and get all passangers to get out of the car

yep those middle mufflers on our cars are crap, my car scrapes on that muffler all the time, surprised i havent lost my exhaust system yet cos ive hit hard,

Believe me it doesnt take a speed hump or drive way to scrape. just a slight bump on the road and it scrapes.

factory suspenion which is rooted, just bought pedders front struts comfort gas, still deciding on the back.

god! i'm rooted then i'm gettin my car lowered 3inches in the rear and 2 1/2 in the front and i'm still on stock 15's bahahaha

had mine put on lovells superlows and konis a a few months back and don't have a problem with scraping when its only me in the car... drove out Saturday night with a full car load for the 1st time and there were more grinds of the exhaust than I wanted to hear - slow ones over speed humps, driveway exits etc and one massive one hitting a dip at about 80k, you will need to be careful. I am thinking about getting the exhaust tucked up now but its not often I drive a full car.

I lowered mine with king super lows then cut another coil (haha) and am paying the price now. it has torn my gaurds and my tyres and i am now paying to get the gaurds proffesionaly rolled! it looks tuff but!!!

Ive got SSL all round and the second time round i repaced the whole exhaust and made it clear to tuck the bloody thing up so i wouldnt have scrapage issues.
Just have to roll front guards and i keep catching them on patheticly made driveways.
