Default Any Marketing?

Has Ford advertised their Bathurst win? I haven't seen anything in the papers???? Anything on the tele????

Gee with a 1,2,3 finish I thought that Ford would be all over the media telling people how good they were! What's going on?

Ha me neither...and I have looked

In the lead up to the AFL Grand Final the had the Geelong Football Club picture on the website.

I'm tipping that they spent more on V8 Racing that the AFL club in the last few years

I will fall over laughing if I see any sort off smart marketing on Ford's behalf from their win at Bathurst, did they do any strong marketing last yr when they won, no, I am at a lost as to why they don't emphaize the winning's, they have the potential, they just lack using it, even throughout the Bathurst coverage, I did not see one advertisment for ford, but I seen many Holden add's aswell as the soon to be released Holden ute, I thought that this is a perfect time for Ford/FPV to do some sales/marketing for the newly released FPV Cobra, but no nothing, only Holden add's, and still I see the Holden add's that claim to be celabrating October with Bathurst, lol, but anyway this is not a Ford /Holden bashing but in the stakes off Marketing and selling your product, Ford leave a lot to be desired,.

Ford Marketing are a bunch of idiots, NZ included.

They spend millions of dollars investing into the V8SC Series, Ford gets a 1-2-3 at Bathurst; the Holy Grail - And what do Ford do?

Nothing.

All we had in the Monday papers was a full page "1 day of racing, 364 days of braging" with a Falcon and lease prices. Very lame. I recall Holden doing all sorts of stuff. The marketing team at Ford are a bunch of idiots.

Marketing is such a huge aspect of any business, but in the business of selling cars it's vital. I honeslty believe that the VE and BF could be going toe to toe in sales if Ford had a succesful marketing campaign over the last 5 years.

You can probably expect it from some dealers. I remember last year there was a dealer in the newspaper who had "Your chance to own the King of the Mountain". Just an XR6.

Most likely because they never expected to actually win Bathurst for another 6 or 7 years and therefore never commissioned an advert to promote the win. Give them another 3 or 4 week (you know, once the moment has totally passed them by) and they will put out some lame advert that basically misses the point anyhow.

Totally agree - I was laughing quite hard at that Commodore Bathurst Special ad last night...thinking they (Holden) really didn't think that one through.

Fords lack of advertising is alarming given the amount of money they pour into the V8 Supercar series soley for the point of making their factory cars have some sort of tenuous link with the V8 supercars - then they fail to capatilise on it when they have a 1,2,3 at Bathurst. Full page ads should have been rolling on Monday - marketing should be sacked (they would be in any other business).

I have to disagree with you on that point, Ford won it last year, Stephen came 4th i think, forget who came 3rd, and the way Craig has been going this year, along with some other Ford drivers in this year,s series, why do you say " ford didnt expect to win for another 6-7 years". Maybe they are watching there advertising dollars, but i think realistically they had a very good chance of winning it this year. and i am not having a go at you, i really do think Ford had a real good chance of winning this year and i think we have a real good chance next year as well.

Its still funny when the Holden ads that they played leading up to Bathurst with Skaifey, still come on now and he says "Holden are celebrating (something like that) Bathurst with these deals'

So they celebrating the Ford 1, 2 ,3 ?

Expect another bulb to be removed from somewhere in the car to increase the advertising budget.

Have said this since the days of BON the advertising department of Ford should spend a week being sat on until they get a clue.

I think the last 4 days has clearly shown they are way to busy sipping their mocca's whilst watching the Fashion channel on Foxtel!

How many sales do you expect Ford will make based on a Bathurst win these days? Once upon a time it meant something, today it's virtually worthless. I'd like to meet someone who was persuaded to buy Ford solely on the back of a Bathurst.

Besides, Ford would have to sell a buttload of cars to break even on such a marketing campaign.

Holdens adds have always been better. How good is their new ute add. It would have to be one of the coolest car adds on T.V. Just a shame the VE so is ugly.

Argh, ford are hopeless. I watched the coverage from 7.30 till finish and did not see ONE ford ad. Yet every ad break there was at least one holden ad. How can they expect to sell cars when they don't even book ONE ad in on bathurst, the most important day in Australian motor sport (well the v8s anyway)?

And didn't they forget to book a spot on the sydney motor show advertisement last year? Something like that anyway. And this year on the radio, I hear the girl talk about HSVs, evo X, lambos, etc but NO mention of fords!

Wake up ford! Or hire me, I could do a lot better than those turkeys.
