Default Why are you on AFF?

Reading through some of the site statistics again got me into a bit of a thought pattern, and I can kind of imagine what these poll results are going to be, however I thought I'd post it anyway.

I think the poll options kind of speak for themselves, so it would be good if people vote truthfully just to get a bit of an idea of everyone we've got here.

Myself, I'm on here as when I bought my AU, I followed a link on aufalcon.com to their forums which linked directly here, so I'm the first option

I voted option one. Only ever owned Fords. Enjoy talking to like minded people. The techincal assistance and info on the cars, general comment on everything else, friendly banter to the heated debate over some topics here is well worth the membership. I check it everyday for Oval news....

I joined this forum because a friend of mine had a father who had 100k to spend on an XY GT. Showed me some pics and I sort of fell in love.

Joined these forums years ago to learn something...I've learned a bit, and got a nice polo and hoodie out of it too.

I don't have a mechanical mind (clearly), but you don't get better by hiding under your blankets.

And Free Donuts if ya lucky!

I joined because we all went to Echuca and met some great members from here.

I also didn't really understand what they were all talking about when it came to the car! Thanks to all the Tech Info and the members input, I know a heck of a lot more than I did 3yrs ago. (Says she who is going to attempt a motor rebuild.. )

Been on ford oriented forums since I have had a p/c..
One of my first forums was BON, blue oval news and corral.net...
There was a guy who used to post on there from inside Ford and gave often some
controversial information.. There was a lawsuit I think over the Explorer tyre issue years back...Since then inside or at least controversial news has slowed down..

I often surf there to find new news on Fords ...
http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?
If I remember correctly Laminge, Anaka and HSE2 [& others from this forum] posted on there too ??

Corral seems to have been around forever...
http://www.corral.net/

Yea just to talk, find out about things your interested in...
I'm more into modded cars than new expensive cars which eventually get old any way..
An older nice car modded alittle will always look nice if done right...
Who looks at a NICE XY and thinks it's old ?? For example..

I joined the old .com forums when I started my project XD, because I was looking for information and people's experiences with doing them up.

I was a little worried at first that I may not be taken seriously, being female in a male dominated area, but there were a few other ladies on board as well, and I think I've only ever had one issue of someone being obnoxious (which was dealt with immediately by the mods).

Met some awesome people (and found a boyfriend), then migrated over here the day these forums opened officially.

Still here, finding more ways of spending vast amounts of money on my cars.

Been a ford lover all my life and i own 2 TE Cortinas which are in need of restoration. One is just off the road and needs a few minor things for rego and the other need serious care taken to stop rust and needs roof repairs which i can't do myself so its just sitting there rusting atm until i can do something about. I'm currently look for a family size car as my girlfriend is 5 and a half months pregnant. Hopefully i'll have one in the next couple of weeks or sooner.
