Car in sig-

Just did an online quote for AAMI
$2,244 and normal excess is $500 and then + $700 because I am a male under 22.
I think 3rd party fire and theft was around 450-500

Only insuring it for $5,000

I did this as though I have had my license for a year, as I won't be looking at the insurance again until next year (when I would have had it for a year)

It is no wonder people stretch the truth with insurance
EDIT:
Also - from memory, AAMI was the cheapest when I was looking last year.

Yes LSV are great:

XE ESP - Agreed Value $30k - $260 p/a - recreational use
XE Ute - Agreed Value $6k - $120 p/a

I have just renewed the policy and to keep the cars at their agreed value they want me to provide pictures, did you find the same?

EDIT: the XR6T is insured with Allianz but that's a fleet insurance policy, i'm not happy with the cover so i'll be getting quotes soon.

Yep also with LSV, Lumley or Vigil whatever they are called now.
I'm 25
XY GT repl full comprehensive for $35g was $197 I think.
Just added the XF Fairmont to it for $2g stable like above only one used at a time and it is an extra $60. Pay $257 for both. Helps that the XY is limited use and I'm in a car club.
The XF was $167 just for third part fire and theft with RACQ.
When I updated the insurance amount for the XY I had to send photos.

My '97 EL is my daily driver and I pay about $300 a year for full comprehensive insurance at market value. Our 2006 Peugeot 307 costs about the same. We pay about $150 a month for full comprehensive insurance on the two cars plus home and contents insurance on the house. Our insurance is through our credit union, underwritten by CGU. Helps living in the country as well!

I was paying $45 a month with GIO to ensure the ute for market value $2,500, highway robbery compared to LSV

I have been with them since 2002 (ESP), it's normal for them to ask for photos when you increase the value but i found it strange that they want photos upon renewal after being at the same agreed value for at least two years ($30,000). Maybe they think the muscle car market has dropped...the bloke on the phone was going on about how GT's are not worth what they used to be.

They also wanted photos of the ute to ensure for $6k, that's fair enough i guess.

BTW, i'm 33 and excess is $250.

I just got my renewal today

BF II Egas sedan, built 2006, no mods, driver is 25, rating one holder.
RACV: 1002.39.
Car is insured for market value.

Interestingly, because I'm a ratings one driver, my premium comes down from $1538.38 per month $1002.39....

Looks like I'll start to look around....

EDIT: Just did an online quote with AAMI

$832.62, agreed value of $15000!!! That's more then what I paid for the car!!!

Looks like I'll be givig the RACV the flick!!!

794p/a on the old BA XR6, aami, 18yr old(at the time) now 21, but the cars gone. Had a massive excess though, kept the costs down on the premium. This was for 22k cover which dropped down to 17.5 after 2 years.

'98 EL XR6, rating 1, 36y.o driver, agreed value $7800 (a little high, but you don't save much dropping it)
$1073p.a. with Shannons. Bastards upped it by 10% over last year. No claims - ever. If I had a standard exhaust I'd switch to Allianz. Last I checked they were about $200 cheaper.

what you paid for it is not relevant to the market value of it. It just means you paid more than you should have.

I don't mean that to insult or offend. Its just factual information.
