Default Opinions

So, someone I know has recently come into ownership of a BA XR6.
Don't flame me over this as I just want people opinions as to if there is such a thing as going TO FAR with a falcon

Now it is bagged, only in the rear. Got the ****** altezza lights. Is COMPLETLY stock. And the Fg wheels are just put on in the last few days.

Now this asks a question, is there such a thing as going TO FAR with a Falcon?
ANd I do understand the point of 'it's there's and they can do as they please', but as I say, just want peoples opinions

Cheers

I've never understood the whole bagging thing, but I'm sure many people will think it's hectic.

Too far? Well that's a matter of personal opinion.

Those rims actually look awesome on it. But, it's lowered way too much for my liking.

Looks stupid and will be virtually undrivable on a day to day basis . It's these ******* that take 5 minutes to leave a shopping centre and block another 20 people from leaving and another 20 from entering as they negotiate a normal gutter at 0.5 KPH as they edge across it at 45 degrees taking up 3 lanes etc etc etc etc etc . in a nutshell yes it is going way too far and i would hazard a guess it is also illegal , hope the cops catch him repeatedly and continue to throw the book at him .

ummm, the whole idea of airbags is to rise cars up to an appropriate hight before driving

Bagging a falcon might be so the taxi driver can pump up the height if he has heavy passengers and luggage?

The main point of contention I can see is the airbags. That will become more of an operator issue though if they're constantly adjusting them and showing off. I've seen BA/F's sit that height on springs so at least the bags have the option of more manoeuvrability.

Every second modified BA/F is running FPV wheels so that's no issue

Im not a fan of Altezza lights, particularly the chrome backed ones, but a lot of BA/F's have them as well.

Bearing in mind too, that this is just how it came of the factory floor performace wise and so on. Everything that has been does is cosmetic.
He is soon wanting to change to interior and seats etc, to 'racing seats'

I think people are missing that the car has airbags and at that low, the airbags are fully down. The back of the car can be lifted up, so speed bumps and such will not be an issue.

Apart from the altezza lights, I like it.

Those wheels suit the car perfectly (look better than the cheap chrome crap you see on most "modified" XR6s) and with the airbags, it's only a flick of a switch to raise the car to a decent driving height. Only thing I would change is the tailights.

my first thought is how does he change a tyre in the case of a flatty......but if it can rise enough with the airbags then it would be okay

each to his own

wouldn't suit me but I dont have to look nor drive it!

I think some people need to get a clue about airbags. My mates SV6 can go as low as that but also a lot higher than stock. I don't like airbags either but you are far from stuck with being ultra low!

What is the handling like with airbags? I can only assume not as good as a normal spring and shock combination.

My opinion on the car is that it is too low and I'm not a fan of altezza tail lights. It's his car but if I had it, I would raise it back up to the normal XR ride height.

I know someone, who is somewhat a Holden supremacist, recently brought a VS which I think looks like an abomination. It has a VY Clubsport lookalike bodykit complete with southern cross and iron cross stickers plus a broken diff. I think that gives you an idea of its history.

Haha, yeah thought that may come up and bite me again
I have a plan for them, however it does involve modifying the front bumper, so no time soon (Will look like it has come from factory with them when I do it)

I do like the wheels, very much so. Would love them on mine
Those altezzas I hate with a passion (no offence to people on here that have them), that's why I got the black LED ones.

As stated, how much would the ride suffer?
Not having driven in a car with bags, I could only imagine the back would "twist and warp" a fair bit?

I love how, in the original post, it clearly states the car is bagged in the rear, yet, people comment about it being too low etc..

Having said that, being low is cool, but coils are better, and bags are for groceries

I just dont understand how anyone could throw all that cash at an XR6 - you know, pretty much the base model that is used as a taxi, when for less money they could have had an XR6T.

Seriously, why do people want their car to look performance, when they dont seem to have any interest in actual performance. Boggles the mind...
