Default XE ESP 1:18 Scale Model

(From ESPghia.com forum)

Why can't I find an XE ESP 1:18 Scale Model (or even a 1:43?)?

Have Biante / Classic Carlectables / Trax / Anyone ever made XD/XE road car models?

If not.... WHY NOT????

I'm sure that they'd sell them.... Wouldn't you want one?

Even though I'd ultimately want a Monza Red / Charcoal Trim car - I'd settle for WHATEVER they decided to make!!!!!

I've penned an email to them (see below) and emailed it to support@biante.info

I've bought quite a number of scale models from your catalogue from distributors over the years, and I feel that there is a notable omission from your catalogue - namely the Ford XE Fairmont Ghia ESP.

I've searched high and low - even through your competitors - and have not found one single XE ESP scale model anywhere!

PLEASE BIANTE - Consider this as a model in the future!

You'd be the only quality scale model manufacturer to do it (meaning - you won't have to compete for the sales) and you've previously done the Dick Johnson race cars - whilst I don't completely understand the specifics and manufacturing process - you've got the body more or less ready to go - its more the finer details!

I am sure that I'm not the only XE fan out there that would be interested in this model - and given that the XE ESP brand is now over 30 years old - the real cars are fast becoming collectible - surely the scale model will follow suit.

Please consider this request - and I await eagerly your 'New Model Showroom' annoucement!

Thanks in Advance,

Loftie
I'm requesting that the forum members here who are interested do the same!

FYI: Trax models do make a few 80s Ford Models - and have done an XD ESP

the Trax one is the only one that i am aware of. Biante are currently doing the early commodore road cars in 1:18 atm, so i'd guess they will get around to the XD/E road cars in due time also. Have you tried an email to Classic Carlectables aswell ?

Really? Well - I suppose that is logical for the following reason:

If you're going to buy an Allan Moffat XY PH3 for instance - he only drove the one car (which was Vermillion Fire) so it's instantly recognisable etc...

But - if you're going to buy a road version of the PH3 - you might want blue, or white, or silver, or yellow, etc etc....

But if you like the scale models for the racers - the colours don't change...

So - I suppose that does make sense...

STILL - doesn't stop me from wanting the road versions.... I've always loved the road versions... takes me back to the matchbox/hotwheels cars when I was a kid - I always prefered the cars that were 'real' in appearance (normally matchbox) as opposed to some of the crazy futuristic concept designs that hotwheels had.

I'll also be emailing Classic Carlectables the same/similar email.

Why they dont make them ......
Well like everything in business it has to be viable
1, 5 ,10 or 100 people "wanting " them doesnt even pose a drop in the ocean to tool up to make a batch run
I do alot of casting here, and anything under 100 "wants" i dont bother
Im a little bloke compared to the larger companies

The ESPs are the only 80's Falcon I love, especially the XEs, so I think this would be a good idea. I far prefer the road versions of model cars over the race versions. Guess I must be in the minority!

PS: my 1:18 scale green and black XA GT coupe takes pride of place in the mancave.

I do understand that - and of course there are plenty of costs involved with making them.

The reason I brought up Biante - was that they do already made the racecar Dick Johnson cars.... and whilst there would be plenty of work involved in producing an accurate replica of the ESP - they do have the body already cast and ready to go (minus the flares and spoilers).

But like you said... 100 wants doesn't equate to 2000+ sales
(you only need to look at the HSV W427 as an example... lots of people who WANTED it... but not so many buyers...)

I only received an email off Biante recently regarding why don't they make an EBGT.....

Even though there are current EB race cars out there at the moment (Johnson, Seton, Moffat etc.) it still means Biante have to tool up at a great cost to replicate the factory EBGT model. They just can't make a few minor changes and add different spoilers etc. they told me. One day perhaps....................

I'm patiently waiting for the EBGT one as well.
I even managed to get a good one (1:18) of my Parnelli Jones Mustang - Too Cool!

My collection is of Bathurst winning Fords and every GT road car from XR through to BA including XC Cobra, im waiting for the Stone Brothers 97 EL Baturst winner and a few road cars including XB GT 4 door sedan, XD ESP XE ESP, EB GT, ED Sprint, and EL GT. Not holding my breath though. The Holden fans seem to be better cated for.

Sounds like a great idea. At Bathurst I got a book on XD and XE racing Falcons, so now I know something about them. I'm very interested in the XE ESP.

My only North American source for Aussie diecasts went out of business, though, so now if I buy any I have to pay the ridiculously high postage.
