A very rare beast and pretty much the first of the I6T's that was half official in a non official way.

Great car, would love to see some pics etc.

Many many years ago, I met a guy who owned one, he was mates with another mate who had a worked XY-GT.

The turbo owner wanted his car to be as fast or faster than the V8 and spent considerable money trying, as was told to me he rebuilt the 6 twice in his pursuit. Not long afterwards he ended up selling the turbo and bought a V8

My Dad had a Turbocharged XD ESP that he bought from Peter Warrens . It even featured in RCN . I will dig out the story scan and post links to it . I remember it made a 351 look positvely tame by comparison and it had mountains of torque .

^^ yep and I'm pretty sure it's still there. Was a white one. Give away was the bonnet vents.

I think it had a sunroof too but was VERY rusty, trim was worn and drive line missing, as you said.

I have 9 XE ESP Turbos on the ESP Database, including the White 1983 EFI at Superoo in WA.
I also have info on 5 DJR Turbos, 1 XE Pack, an XE Fairmont and a ZL, all with Turbos. Still looking for more!

Good to see another is still on the road, last one i seen was a silver one that was laying rubber sideways up the main drag in Emerald Qld about 14 years ago. They were far and few between then and even less now, worthy of the muscle car logo as well.

Is it dual fuel? or has it been converted to straight gas?
Pity the Aircon gear has been pulled out.

Is the ZL lane, the one Brett (aka 'Fox' on xfalcon) had?
That one was found at a wreckers 90% complete, and bought by a bloke Fabian, in the Caroline Springs Vic.

Brett bought it off Fabian.
I don't know if he still has it.

My mate used to own one of these Esp's it was number 1 and also was the wheels test car. He had all the books and magazine articles. From memory he had it for sale for years and ended up selling it real cheap 10 - 12 years ago it had 80,000k's on it and was in mint con. I have photo's some where, damn that car was quick.

I had one for a while, a full white one (lower half was not in gunmetal) AIT kit, 4.1L alloy head EFI with an auto in Perth. I told the story about it here http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=8962

I tried to rescue it, bought it without rego, got it back on the road, but it rolled out the driveway late one night & ended up in the river. Straightend it out & traded it in on an NC Fairlane at Titan Ford...

Have a look at the full story in the link.

As I recall the compliance plate with AIT written on it was a silver metal one pop-rivited next to the original compliance plate from Ford.

It had a terrible aftermarket sunroof in it that was busted.

I haven't seen the one at Superoo, but, if it's completely white, & the bootlit has patched up holes in it from a boot spolier, and one of the lower rear quarters was obviously replaced, it could be mine.

Other indications could be gold paint overspray on the brake calipers & rotors, I did a dodgy rattlecan job on the snowflakes with them still on the car...
