Default New windscreen quality

My original windscreen has a large crack so I need to replace it, what is the quality of the aftermarket ones on offer like?
Bill.

I had an original screen in my 2000 ute that had done around 140k.
It was sandblasted but not really bad, just an issue when the sun is low.
Had a replacement put in, and it's looking quite bad after maybe 2 years.

I'm convinced the glass is much lower quality than the stock screen.
If I remember it was from O'briens and was $190 I think.
Can you still get factory screens ? Hate to think how much $$

I got an O'Briens windscreen as per insurance. My mistake
It leaks and after now reading the reviews online next time I will go to an independent windscreen fitter.

I had a couple of O'Briens insurance screens in my FG and never had a problem. If it hasn't been properly fitted I'd take it back and get it rectified.

I've got a W O'B branch mgr comes through my work (not the local branch via insurance company) and I was talking to him a while ago about glass quality etc.

I can't fully remember now but I think he said that there's only two companies make Ford (AU) windscreens.

One in China and the other in South Africa (O'B's world hq).

I may be wrong about that, happy to be corrected. My memory is not what it

O'Brien's fitted to the RTV earlier this year (BA ute is same as AU).

It's been fine.

I use to go through a windscreen say every year and they would be buggered.

I had the same mob bugger up on my car once and the cars computer got wet, because of some clown that most likely did it in spite with some type of inferiority complex. so I have never been back to them again.
The car was about a year old and I was driving down the highway doing 60km/h without touching the throttle, the computer never was the same again.
Lucky I bought a new car every year or two.
I have had windscreens that look like waves within the plastic that's in between the layers of glass of the cheap ones.
