Default Victoria enforcing speed limits...

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=98043

This, for once, is a responce I like to hear from the government. Rather then enforcing speed limits by threatning ppl with large fines and points, etc, they are mearly pointing out the speed limits, which in turn, will ruduce the amount of "honest mistakes" of speeding.....

Now they just need to change every school zebra crossing into a speed bump, and they'll have to slow down.... esp those commodores with a stock body kit, steel rims, and stock suspension... the ones that go over speed humps on an angle anyway, just so as unaware onlookers think that they have a lowered car....

There must be a state election coming up... seems inconsistant with the last 6 years of Bracks' government

Bingo.
Bracks knows he's going to burn for the speed camera revenue tactics and is trying to soften the blow.

Too little.. too late. Let him burn I say.

Why make a sweeping statement like that to support any views, there are the same, if not more, ford owners with the same attitude!

Wow ... so they have made enough money now and don't need to install more of those blue poles on the northern freeway that the NSW/ACT people noticed on the way down ... hee hee.

All I can say is thank goodness for GPS and cruise control ... otherwise more of us could have beome a statistic.

That is why they are called POLEticians (sorry a joke for the NSW/ ACT people that went to AU Falcon Day).

Honestly, I'd prefer driving into a down by going down to 80, then 60 probably.

I'd definently rather not have to sit at 40 between two schools =/

Some towns on the way down to Victoria went from 100 .... straight to 50km/h ... not even a 50km/h "Ahead" sign either ... bang ... cops could have had a field day in a few small towns.

I'm not convinced that Bracks & co are genuine on this, they had to be dragged kicking and screaming to admit that some cameras were faulty and they concentrate solely on the speed aspect of road safety, a myopic view which only denigrates road safety into the revenue raising category in some peoples eyes. I will be voting other than Labor in the forthcoming state election, for whom I don't know yet. sleep:
cheers
Bill.

if they can put these signs up then it is all good. I would like to see it in each state though, make it consistent.
