My V6 commo ran 15.9 at WSID and i raced a VR SS auto and that ran 15.6. a couple times. So i would think the ford could beat a VP for sure..

What's the use of starting a new thread and asking the question if you had the specs.
What a waste this thread is.

Specs don't mean anything, BA will win it, most vp's are probably tired, add, a second or two to that 1/4 mile time for the vp

i would say the BA would be a bit faster - dad once had the 165kw V8 Statesman and his works EBII Gli wagon 4.0 could keep up with it - he and my mum dragged each other at the lights - it was a draw i think (back when 165kw seemed like a fair bit of power) now a 3L diesel will put out more than that.

I have a VN SS a bit quicker than a VP but fairly similar. And I had a young bloke try and race me in a BA 5.4 Ghia. Needless to say he didn't stand a chance. Weight is the key issue I launched with 1 car length advantage in 20 metres. And kept pulling away from there on. I stoped at 100k's but the hero in the Ghia kept going.

i wouldnt be going of of them times man cause that sounds like the most healthiest vp ever i owned a el gli before i got my ute and it would stay with vn and vp ss's from the lights and a stock ba xt is just about as quick as the na xr6 ba cause there is not much difference between them at all |

the xt is a 6 cylinda and the vp is it a v8? because if so why would you be comparing them the vp is lighter with 2 extra cylindas? in saying that though i would think the xt would get power down better

BA XT would absolutley destroy a VP V8.
Its more powerful, the chassis is far superior, so therefore better power down.... Not to mention that the BA is a relatively new car, whereas the VP is old, so it had less power and torque to begin with, and that 12-15 year old car won't have all of its kiloWatts and Newton metres anymore.... No contest win to the BA.

not only would it beat the VP5L, but if it was a 6 speed auto (BFMKII) XT it would embarrase the living crap out of it
