recently my cat started making rattling noises inside.I ended up pulling it off to have a look and there was this block of chalk like material with burn marks on it rattling around i ended up smashing it out.
just wanted to know can i drive car without that in there as exhaust note has got pretty loud and will it have any performance effects in a negative or positive way |

Well for a start removing the cat converter is illegal and if you are caught it will cost you heaps. Probably best to replace it.
