Default Newbie

Hi Guys and Gals,
I am in the process of building a '32 Ford Coupe and was wondering if you experts could recommened where I could source some "spares". The spares I am talking about are the following:

A brand new Boss 290 Engine with ECU
A brand new BTR sequential sports gearbox
A brand new multi plate limited slip diff with rear axle.

I went straight to the source in FPV and basically I was told to go and bother a local dealer.
I am not looking for a handout or freebies, I will be a cash customer looking for at least a resonable price.

well I have now come to the true experts!!! Any advice is appreciated

Thanks
Bern

Dealer sounds like yopur best choice. Unless a wreckers got a destroyed body with an good engine and box. Minor works's no big deal - but I love fiddling with engines.

'32 coupe - Excellent choice! One of my favs. You gonna chop the windscreen?

The rod is going to be a complete build up from scratch. The chassis will be a new build with a IFS, the body will be 'glass only for financial reasons!! The roof and 'screen will have a 3 1/2 inch chop which is pretty much a standard chop these days.
The reason why I wnat to run new running gear is simple, I want the reliabitity that EFI provides and of course the hadling that modern cars have. Nothing agaist the old school hot rods but this is just my personal choice.

I'll keep you guys and gals informed about how I progress through the build up.

And if you want to take an interest in what other rodders are doing - may I suggest that you drop in to one of my favourite online hangouts Rodding Round Table everyone there will make you feel more than welcome.

Hey Bern you may want to consider the auctions as well, just buy a wrecked BA and go for it would possibly be a way cheaper option, and you could sell alot of the bits to re-coupe costs.

Yeah, thought about those options but you never really know what you are gonna get, you may be buying someone elses problem, so I am a bit hesitant to go down the auction route.

Alot of the cars are repairable so you can actually start and hear them running.
