Trust is a big thing. Especially when dealing over the net. Unfortunately in all areas of society where a large enough group gathers, you will see a broad spectrum of personality types and moralities. Atleast now the name has been posted so we all know who the culprit is.
How about in the trading section we have a sticky thread for successful trades. That way we can atleast see who seems to be a reliable trader and not have to name the bad ones so much.

I have bought several item off AFF members the most expensive being $1500. You should be able to trust other members but the world isn't perfect and heinsight is a pain in the ***.
AP: I hope you get your money.

AP - man you had me worried that I didn't send you the full money for the RF Industries GSM antenna and cable kit for my mobile phone. But I don't recall you sending me PM's or anything chasing money so I was kinda relaxed by that point.
All i've got to say is that in my dealings with AP it was excellent, ontime and well nothing short of a Joy. If you rip him off you deserve to be publicly named and outcast!

Use ebay guys..... it's a shame you can't trust everybody on this earth but that is reality.
Ebay at least offers some protection...for a small fee of course.

If you have his number plate, goto the RTA, pay them a little bit of cash and they will happily hand over his current license address, just incase he moved.
Find a member in his area to pay him a visit. I'm not saying bash the crap out of him, just approach him, let him know the deal and that he'll be constantly reminded of his outstanding dept. Then, if it is possible, get the law involved. If you are friendly with a copper in his local area, then get said officer to pay this person a house call, its not illegal, but it will show the offender that there is a little bit of backing to your bark... As long as you keep your nose clean and don't get anyone to do anything stupid, you should be able to track him where ever he goes and get the money out of him... What would be funny though, is if you got someone to get the plates off the car again. If he doesn't pay up, he doesn't get them back. Or hell, just keep them anyway, get the RTA to clear them, and sell them to someone else who is willing to actually pay up... AP has always been fairly reasonable, I remember him keeping a cool head over a crash (or a family incident or something) years ago, when most would have lost the plot and gone on a masacre, he stayed collected. Typical honest AP. |

havent read the last few pages, but im a sceptic unless the person has built up heaps of posts(and assuming that other forum members know them), aswell as getting as many details from them as possible and for large stuff i get a signed doc from the other person stating the agreement between both parties(esp when i hand over cash before items are sent). done this twice now, first time was great, and im waiting for the second time's sale to be finalised so i'l let you know how it goes. seems all good tho.
corral.net run a feedback area, but then again thats american n they dont seem overly trusting(and often, trustworthy!).. but that comes with numbers i suppose. its a BIG site. im a sceptic. maybe that makes me hard to deal with but i dont think so... im remarkably flexible and i dont complain. |

Unfortunately people like that dont disappear they will repopulate onto another forum where most likely they will rip off someone else. Being a relatively new member of these forums (was an old member of the US version) i have dealt with a few people already and have found them to be very pleasent and easy to deal with How bout a FFAU bash! :evil_laug

Rob was well known at a personal level and he is still good friends with other members on here so more's the pity. Anyhow, he's a long way away on the central coast of NSW so I guess it's a case of too hard.
I'll make sure I don't have an accident and need an ambo up there in case he's the guy on board - might slip me something I don't need..... |

You would think by now this guy or guys would have owned up and said that they would be paying as soon as possible. 1 week then name names. Because if he has done it here he has either done it somewhere else or will do it again.
