Every day the mirrors on my car are getting moved fully outwards by some grubby little fingers. I know it isn't the end of the world but it has taken a lot of work to buy a GT and I don't need anyone touching it. I am a reasonably popular teacher so I am a little surprised they don't respect the GT but I suppose they could be keying it if they were vindictive.

What can i do? I have considered wasting a school day in a bird hide in the carpark, placing a sniper on the roof of the A Block,hiring a private investigator to photograph them doing it ,smearing superglue on the mirrors, some form of electrification, silver nitrate to dye their little thumbs black, keep the windows openand buy an attack cobra but these aren't feasible or legal options.

Is it possible to get a mini cam running off the lighter jack placed on the sun visor to record these little fellows vandalising my pride and joy? Can it broadcast to a laptop in the boot or to our school's wireless network so i can nab them? Come on amateur detectives!

I am failing to see the funny side of their little prank. Power mirrors can only take so much manual adjustment before something gives or they scratch my car with their school bag. More importantly the kids need to learn a lesson before they try it on a Harley on the street without the protection of their school and a teacher who can only use psychology for discipline instead of a toe up the ****!

but why take a nice car to work just buy a piece o crap for a work car.

surly a teachers salary could afford that.

Try contacting the AFF member pearly. He had actual video footage of a 4wd backing into his ute a the school where he was doing some work. His little camera might be if use. There is a thread in the pub here a few months back. But I'm about to come off lunch so I can't find it.

I will have a look at that deals direct camera. It will come in handy next road rage plus people do STUPID things to try to get the GT to run them - might be a laugh for you guys to see Sydney for yourselves.

As for buying a Pub car that can get wrecked and driving that to work there is another name for that called LOSINGI am going to drive what i like to school and until I get a Cobra or a Lambo my old BA GT Mk2 will have to do.

You should be able to drive whatever car you want to your job mate.
A teacher at my highschool had some really cool cars (GTP, escorts, capris etc) and he was such a cool guy that no one messed with his car... if they had've touched any of his cars, they would've had all the students he taught to deal with anyway...

I reckon your best bet is to beat them at their own game, get a camera and catch them at it.
It seems like its the only way you'll win.

...when I get the XR6 I'll be asking that same teacher if I can go into school (finished yr 12 last year) and put it up on the hoist they have there to give it a more thorough inspection.

Kids should be more creative.. we once put a teacher's car in the paper for sale.. for good money mind you, and the teacher took the joke well.

You may be better off ignoring it and it will most likely stop soon.. as long as there is no damage being done. Other than that just post an official letter to all students about interference with vehicles and how it is being watched etc etc. make it to all students from the facaulty.

I'm not sure what your going to do with the culprit when you find out who it is because kids can be very vindictive and hostile when accused.
Your GT may suffer more. Just something to think about.

well this is school holiday period for a week
it was done the other night at parent teacher night
i am thinking my teacher mates are getting in on the act too

200 bucks for a cam is still steep now i have 2 weeks of peace

It isn’t that steep considering what it can save you.

I had someone hit the back of my Fairlane last week while I was at work and I’m setting up a cam that will give me around 11 hours of recording time. I’m 90% sure of who’s truck it was but at this stage, I can’t prove it. I only have the CCTV footage from the yard which they could dispute.

A very time consuming exercise, but I will find the mongrel who did this.

In the hunting fraternity trail cameras are available that take motion activated pictures, both std and infrared. They are made by a company called " MOULTRIE", available ex USA for $200'ish. They take hundreds of pictures on 1 set of batteries.
