Just wondering whether painting fiberglass is the same process as plastic?
Do you still use plastic primer? Or is there a special type of primer for fiberglass? Cheers

Not an expert, but i painted my spoiler kit with just normal 2pac paints and primers. The gel coat was in good condition and smooth. Just sanded it back a little and 2yrs later paint still holding on well.

as posted above,
i normally just scuff back the gelcoat, with green scotchbrite or even 320 freecut paper, just to degloss the surface, give the etch something to stick to. give it a quick wipe over with metho and a paper towel then a couple of light coats of etch primer, then a few coats of 2 pack primer, let it cure, block it back flat then paint (leaving time for primer/paint to cure between coats etc) same as painting steel etc.
