To say the rock was the best thing to happen to DJ as mentioned a few posts above,pushed him into the spot light more,fair enuf , but TRU BLU was absolutely sticking it to the more funded teams,
It won the ATCC championship for that year didnt it ....
Not bad for a car/team /driver that many would call 2nd rate to the other well funded over rated team/drivers ....

I think the incident where he went off at Forest Elbow was more amazing...kissed the wall, smacked sideways down into the trees in a shower of panels. Everyone honestly thought he was dead. Then overnight the TAFE mechanics rebuilt the car from scratch, and I can still remember the reporter on the grid walking up to the car and mentioning what a fantastic job had been done, touching the bonnet, and saying "Oh...the paints still tacky"...

It was a different car, with as much or their own parts incorporated as they could.
