Pizza delivery driver carjacked before chase COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A pizza delivery driver watched in horror as a carjacker sped off in his new high-powered Dodge Challenger. Soon, the carjacker was leading police on a four-county chase that reached speeds up to 150 mph before he was eventually arrested. Channel 2's Ross Cavitt spoke with the carjacking victim Monday. Morris had just delivered pizza at an Austell hotel near Six Flags theme park when he was held at gunpoint. “He asked if I worked for Pizza Hut or Papa John's,” Shawn Morris told Cavitt. “Then he took my car and all the money in my pocket.” Cobb County police spotted the white 2012 Dodge Challenger minutes later and the chase began. “They said it pretty much got away from Cobb County and they had to call in backup, and it was a Caprice that took care of it,” Morris said. The chase ended in Clayton County, where police arrested 18-year-old Emmanuel Lett, of Lithonia. Records show he was on out bond for a burglary charge in DeKalb County. “There are some things I would like to do to that young man, maybe teach him a little lesson. Maybe this will teach him a lesson, although I doubt that,” Morris said. |

Finance is cheap in the US KaniSS... He probably only delivers pizzas one night a week to pay for the Dodge.

Would have been more impressive if it had been Charger chasing down a Challenger
I'd pay money to see that. |

i used to deliver pizzas in the 2004 in a worked VR acclaim. was a quick bit of kit with HSV FE2 susp and LSD, pacemakers and exhaust. big throttle body, for a v6 buick motor, it went well.
but the best part was when the boss was in.... his r32 GTR was the bomb to deliver pizza in. that thing pushed some 400HP through all 4 wheels, HICAS, coilovers. i took back roads and enjoyed those nights. these days you would get some puss bucket Getz, that some bloke previously shat himself in, mis matched rims and running on racing slicks. i miss the old days of bachelor pizza with mates 5 nights a week (hey it was free lol) Ice |

Bit like back in the late eighties, a friend went to stay with his uncle in Germany while touring around visiting family and long lost relatives.
His uncle was just a factory worker, just an ordinary average guy, and they drove a 280SE Mercedes. The damn taxis were Mercs as well. His uncle took him for a visit to the Mercedes plant, and the parking lot for employees was chocker block with Mercs of various makes. Apparently the deal they had was that an employee of Benz could get a 50% discount, but they had to sign a form saying they wouldn't sell the car for three years. Well why wouldn't you take such an offer?? That's the dilemma of being situated way down here at the bottom of the planet...cars that are ordinary cars in their country of origin are sold here as "luxury models" at a premium price, meaning we have, until recently, just had to do without standard features that the rest of the world took for granted. However, the flip side of this is that our "ordinary cars" were, again until relatively recently, very ordinary, but affordable. True Australian made luxury cars were priced up high out of reach of ordinary motorists. In recent years things have changed a little, but Australians still cry when they look at what the rest of the world pays for cars that here are priced in the stratosphere... |
