The radio add for the EcoLPi Falcon is brilliant.

It's about time they were advertising like that.

If you read back through this thread, I think you will find that I defended Ford’s poor marketing of the Falcon.
But really?
I thinking back over all the car ads I see on telly, whether it’s advertising the brand, particular models, sales, special events, what have you. And thinking about it, there are a fair few motoring ads around. Yet over the past few years I have hardly seen any for the Falcon? I can REMEMBER ads from a few years ago, for not just the Falcon but the Fairlane as well. Yet nothing over the past few years. (I have recently seen one ad for the ecoboost, and frankly it looks like it was written by school kids.)

All of which leads me to the conclusion that the downfall of the Falcon has been plotted and planned for some time now.

Don’t misunderstand me, I'm not suggesting that Ford set out to kill a profitable model in the 90’s. I just believe that the decision to end Falcon production was taken some years back, probably whilst the FG was still on the drawing boards. So the subsequent lack of marketing simply reflects their not wanting to invest more money in a brand that was about to be terminated.

Well, I’ll you this Ford; your marketing gurus? They got it WRONG. We still love our Falcon, we’re NOT going to buy a tarted up Mondeo.
I would rather buy a Commode than whatever Ford are going to try and foist on us.

Yes, I would rather PUSH my Falcon than drive a Commode, but I would rather catch public transport than buy a Ford post 2016.
