Yes it is. That design is now nearly 7 years old. Same goes for the mondeo. Actually I must say for a 7 year design, the mondeo still looks a great car particularly in titanium hatch/wagon. Its just the interior is starting to date in its appearance. None the less a diesel wagon in the new model has me written all over it.

No - just an error in the source data for the chart. As pointed out the Lancer is down 18% this year. I will update the graph shortly.

Yes but there's a difference between that, and being in "run out mode" (like the Mazda3 is at the moment). A new Lancer hasn't even been revealed yet, so Mitsubishi are in trouble in 2014 if Lancer sales continue to slide.

Doesn't matter. HSV use a body provided by Holden and slap a badge on it. Does that make it not a Holden? VFACTs don't think so. HSV have always been counted in the Commodore figure.

the car would be counted twice if that were the case, two different car companies.

Vfacts are road registed, nothing more.
you cant count something that hasent been registed.

I don't see your point. HSVs have to be registered as well. Their figure is not counted separately by VFACTs, so what are you saying, that there's a few thousand cars missing from the annual tally each year? I don't think so.

You have no clue. HSV's are included in Holden sales, always have been. There is no listing of HSV in the Vfacts figures, they are all included with Holden.

I get the whole report sent to me at work. It's the same as FPV, those sales are counted with Ford.

HSV's are registered as Holdens just as FPV's are registered as Fords. They are not treated as separate brands.

Thanks for the update, that explains why I’m not seeing Lancers at every street corner.

Everest? 500-1000 maybe?
Ecosport? Couple of hundred?
Territory replacement? 1000?

What else? new Transits probably wont add much?
So in reality Ford are going to be in the same position in 4 years than they are now I suspect? Assuming other brands dont get more popular
To be frank when Ford goes full importer it won't have to "protect" it's locally produced cars. Up to now Ford Aust. had to keep it's local production numbers up at the expense of bringing in every available model from their overseas divisions. Running a factory here has meant considering the effect of any potential sales stealing models from O/S. This won't be the case post 2016 so while there won't be real big numbers of single models apart from say Ranger there hopefully should be growth in total market share.

Transit will include a VW Caddy competitor, a van in 1 tonne class and a larger model in MB Sprinter/VW Crafter class.

Lol at an HSV not being a Holden. Lol and more lol.

Anyway v facts is about registrations. An HSV is registered once and included in Commodore sales. You know why? Because it IS a Commodore - as much as some of their owners think otherwise. Same with FPV.

Just don't call my Ghia a Falcon! Lol.

HSV and FPV sales are incorporated into their respective parent models and not reported separately by VFACTs. The figures that we used for our stats came from FPV and HSV themselves at least until someone in FoA decided they were commercially sensitive.

Cheers

For those who actually receive the vfacts reports, they will clearly see there are no sales listed for either FPV or HSV. These are and have been for a long time grouped with the Falcon and Commodore sales respectively.

Why can't Vfacts numbers be taken from the various state & territory government deptartments like Vicroads etc.. with the removal of vehicles registered in dealership or car company names to counter "boosting sales".

More effort then is really needed i spose. The figures catch up pretty quickly so there's no faking it for very long!

It doesn't really matter because all manufacturers do it so it balances out. Its not really boosting sales they are just company drive cars that get replaced every few months. When I worked for Holden they had no extra licensed stock than anyone else.
