Default The shame of it all

: Well it happened this morning..... running late and yes officer I did not mean too.... but pinged.

I am not complaining.... I admit I was speeding.... not by much..... and yes I was caught fair and square. I have already paid the fine and got the demerit points.

After getting the lecture on the side of the road.... watching all the smirking faces of those driving by.... my typhoon is a bit obvious.... personalised number plates "TYPHOON 44".

Well after getting to work and reading the ticket to find out the best way to pay it..... can you imagine my shock...... my horror.... the indignity... to read my pride and joy .... listed on the infringment notice.... : : ... I am lost for words ...... was noted down as Blue Ford XR8...... cripes :togo:

the shame.... oh the shame : Peter

Don't know what happens over in W.A. but in N.S.W if the police make a mistake on the infringement notice and you challenge it they will drop the charge. So it might be worth your while to check with a solicitor. The way they will look at it in court, is if he doesn't know what car it is how can he be sure he read the radar right in the first place. It works both ways as well, I have been booked for mispelling the name of a town wrong in my logbook in the truck.Give it a try you have nothing to lose.

But if he's already paid it, then isn't that admitting guilt?

As long as he got the rego correct then I doubt you'd have a leg to stand on.
Its not the officers job to know every model of every car maker.

Exactly right, the RTA and the courts consider payment of the fine as an
"admission of guilt" so if you ever have an issue with any infringment, fine etc Dont pay the fine. :

Ahhhh, you shouldn't have paid so quickly...

Always pays to have a quick glance over what the the cop wrote down, on the small chance he may have stuffed something up. In your case, it was calling the Phoon an XR8...

Then challenge it.
