Hi all, I've just purchased a black BF XR8 with black rims. I'm
Thinking about getting some personalised plates put on - which in you opinion looks better - black plates with white writing or white plates with black writing? Also should I get slimline front & standard back or some other combo? Cheers |

But I'm biased as that's what I've got

I agree. They blend in better with the rest of the car. Unless you want people to notice the number plates first, then the car. My theory is if you have a great looking car, don't draw attention away from it's aesthetics, but instead try to tie-in everything together. This depends on the model of the car and the colour. Take Historic plates for example. They look great on some cars, not so good on others.

Depends on location.
Looking through recent posts from the site sponsor "MYPLATES" you don't want to purchase in NSW !!!!! $220 one off fee, with $440 annual fee per year to use them (WTF) In Vic, prices range from $550 with no annual fee, you buy them you own them, FOR LIFE I have NELOTS, silver over black (drive it like its NELOTS)

I used to have black plates with grey writing. I think it looks best.
On the black Ranger currently have the standard white plate with black lettering, but really want a black plate with white or grey lettering. But it's hard to justify $300 odd dollars for nsw premium plate with just random lettering. |

Initially the NT charged $500 flat fee for all personalised plates. Then they dropped the price to $50 about 20 years ago and just about everyone took up the cheap offer. now it costs $178. The attached form shows the varieties available.

Just leave the plates off altogether. Makes it a lot harder for people to identify you if you do the wrong thing.

Just to day I seen a 2006 model car with the old black and white QLD number plates on it, now when I see a plate I know the year that they came out in pretty well so when I seen this one I thought that plate is lettered for a 1975 year model.
I was thinking this joker has just tossed some old plates on his car. |
