my FG ute has a LED light bar thats as useful as a dead pollie,
I have white bulbs in headlights and full beam that are brilliant, and would like extra night time lighting, so was thinking HID lights but rectangular to match the squareness of FG front. any advice?

I don't really understand, may be your light bar is not adjusted or wired correctly.
Even a $79 eBay light bar outperforms $600 driving lights. I have A $79 eBay light bar on my daily driver and it turns night into day, 3 x better that the ARB driving lights I had fitted previously.

yes i do see them as a good light but only as a suitable replacement for spreader spotlights , but as for long distance not so good , so they are still needing to be paired up with long distance pencil beam spots , well thats my observation out on the open road in the truck and with what ones are on at the time

Wodahs I agree there mate, this ute oh mine has stunning lights, I thought Id add the light bar (admittingly its been in the shed couple of years and no box or label) but its great for spotting the roos on the side as you pass them, but as for spotting them up ahead blahh.
thats why Id like some decent quality rectangular long range lights, dont care if LEDS, halagon, quazzy modos as long as they can produce a clear light way up ahead.

so far i havent ever tried any type of square spots
and as for the others ive had HID's on a truck but didnt think anything much special over and above about them compared to the hella rallye 4000s (which i think im just as happy using even tho im not paying for them)

sorry Tonz
wasnt pushing to round spotties more stating that i didnt think there was any thing special with HIDs compared to the normal 4000s to warrant having them from my experience but that my experience doesnt yet include square spots so in this shape/configuration i dont know if the HIDs are better or just a fad

A lot of LED lights on Ebay are around 6000K, which are useless in the Wet
