To me it is sad to see what this country could / can achieve when when given a chance.

I love that R5! Using the same extra cab with suicide doors that the courier/mazda b series was using at the time.
I needed a full ute with canopy for work for gas bottles and toolboxes in the back, but also wanted a couple of crates/totes in the back of the cab for test equipment/electronics.
No one offered that except for the courier/ranger/b2600/b2500d/bravo
I bought a courier just for that! The 4wd was nice for holidays sure, but the 2.6L was pretty gutless. So when it was written off due to hail I had to make a choice when I needed to tow big trailers: get the 4l ranger which drinks more than a falcon, or just make do with a falcon and lose 4wd.

An RTV R5 would have been awesome and it's a shame it never got to production.

E: Have to add though the best thing about the extra cab courier/ranger is that the cab was near full length - about 1.6m at least, which is why they were so good, and the R5 has a short dual cab length tray which isn't so good.

Then Holden stole the idea and made it crap. Typical. Rear seats were useless in the Crewman.
