Default Shannon’s insurance - windscreen replacement

Shannon’s offer a new windscreen per year and I have a few good stone chips in my windscreen. Anyone used this service on their 1970’s car?

any reputable windscreen shop will not replace windscreens over stone chips. Throw a cat at it. Do not break it from the inside.
These places deal with insurance for their livelihood they have seen every trick.

From my experience with other insurances it would get replaced because a clear vision and no defects in glass means less likelihood of incident and increased protection for people in the vehicle if an incident happens. I'm with Shannons now but haven't looked into it. Give them a call and let me know

You also have to watch for rocks thrown up by that truck in front of you (nudge, nudge, wink, wink).

Not sure about that, Tonz. Windscreens get replaced here in Vic for roadworthy's just because they are grit blasted. Don't even need to have any chips at all!

Last time I got a window replaced in the ranger, if there was only 1 chip they were going to fix it, as there were 3 chips they replaced the screen.

My PX2 screen was getting that badly grit marked by 80,000klm that it was becoming an issue when driving toward the sun.
I thought about taking advantage of this feature of our Shannon's policy, but figured that it would be treated like a claim being that my premium would go up more than usual !!!!

In 20 years with Shannons I've only ever lodged one claim, for minor damage when hit from behind when stationary at traffic lights (yep, he was texting !) Shannons were great
