Default Do you need to program/scan an fg mk II screen from the wreckers back into your car ?

I know the replacement ones that audio/electronics places sell are plug and play but what about if you bought a screen from the wreckers? cheers

reason I ask if its plug and play is cos some bloke at the wreckers told my bro you need to have the screen programmed or scanned by ford or someone who knows what theyre doing but he then said that he wasnt sure if that was the case and it might be plug and play

Take your car to the nearest Ford Dealer. And they can restore your Factory Setting on the ICC.

If you're just swapping the screens, no programming required.
If you swap the whole ICC, audio code error will come up, but if you put your original ACM into the replacement, then all good.

Are you talking about the ACM ?

As said if you just change the screen and use your own ICC it will work...done it several times...but most screens from a wrecker would be as old as yours, you would want to be assured it works OK.

The replacement screen will work, but the nav part won't work unless you also got the gps antenna from the wreckers and fit it.

The other issue with running a dual zone ICC in a single zone car, is [if I remember correctly, been a while since I did it] the left side temperature control button becomes the fan control.

Although it is sometimes possible to reprogram the ICC back to single zone with Forscan. It all depends on whether you are swapping just the screen or the whole ICC.
