This guy thinks they are ED headlights, i know they aren't. The question is though, what are they off? Cougar?

You might find they are aftermarket ones for indeed an old ED.
Think of them as "altezza" lights for the front of a car, but with taste, reflecting XR styling (twin lights). |

i didnt think the angle for the space in between the grill is right..... and they seem to curve, almost like a 'dare i say it' monaro light.

Definately not for e-series. The shape is all wrong. They almost look like AU Fairlane headlights.
Interesting, he says "I have an EB falcon and managed to get the wrong model headlights....". Well, EA to EDs all used the same headlights (except the ED XRs and the LWBs). I've got an ED headlight on my car. It is no different to my EA one.

Nah they are off AU Millenium Fairlanes.
They were a special series I model that had tickford 17s.
