Default Thermo v belt driven fan/s?

I did a little seach and could not find much information on this.

I am fitting a 302 Windsor to my XY falcon. Am thinking thermo fans instead of the traditional bel driven fan. I can see that there should be power gains from using thermos over belt driven fans just by the fact that the belt will cause, however little, a resistance.

Also if I were to do thermos it would be my thinking that dual fans are better than a single as if one fans fails at least the other one will still cool.

Anyone find a reason to talk me out of doing this?

nope i would say go twin thermo, least if you sitting in traffic and your cars getting hot the thermo can speed up, belt cant do anything expect spin at the engine speed
and there got to be a bit more power of belt least pull on the crack

Twin 12" thermos will / should give better results than a single 16".
Just make sure you "shroud" the units........like the current factory set up in the EL - BF series falcs. You need the shroud to get draw through from the entire rad surface.

Do not bolt them straight on to the rad as this reduces the "draw through" effect and will not yield the best results..........In fact, you may find that you will go backwards.

Bset bet is to pick up a set from the wreckers from an EL or BA. They are plentiful and work brilliantly.

If you but them as a single unit........e.g from Davies Craig etc.....they do not come with a shroud and you may not be entirely happy with the results.

You would need to run a GT radiator or a X-Flow style to run AU thermo's, a standard windsor radiator will be to small for it.
