I was watching Tv and saw this really annoying ad where some fingers are walking accross the country side to the tune of some rubbish music and I my wife said what's this krap?
I said "Don't care, as long as it's not an ad for the new falcon!" I couldn't belive it when I found out it was the new ford ad. Holden is so good at marketing. I mean, "Go Better" they produce no data to substantiate that claim but it doesn't matter. Every holden owner feels fuzzy and warm and the mum down the road who is buyig a new car decides she'll check it out. The kids come to school and brag how Holdens 'go better' (They do! I'm a teacher - I hear it alll the time). They use V8 stars (old and new) to advertise and Ford gives us FINGERS ACROSS THE NATION. Even SAAB ads are better! Ford should look at the Mazda 6 TV ads. Show a few different models and colours. Quote some car magazines/journalists. Forget the arty tarty farty rubbish. Sorry for the rant. I am just appalled. I drove an FG yesterday and there wasn't even a "NEW FALCON" banner up at the dealership. I don't want to see this landmark car die a slow death like the fairlane because it is overlooked (whether it be the fault of generic looks or advertising) |

Starting another thread asking questions about Ford departments...
How about you actually send an email to Ford itself and ask them...they'll know what they're doing...well, they're supposed to anyway.

Fear not, Wheels and Motor mag will give it some usless gong like "Car of The Year" and the population will flock into the showrooms.

I love emailing Ford. They send me posters!
Hopefully i'll get an A2 sized poster of fingers waltzing along the beach and this will make me want to go and buy a ........ bucket. I even filmed an example ad once (during the AU days) but they replied that their marketing department was "world class an the envy of many competitors". pass me a bucket. |

I thought they used local primary schools to market the cars. Without loyalty, Ford would be nothing.

hAHAHAH
This thread has had me in tears. Surely they can see how bad they are making themselves look....please tell me they can. LTDHO is right. Without Ford lovers they would be nothing. They don't market themselves toward gaining a differing and broad market. They need help.

I saw the add last night, I didn't know what is was for, if it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't have guessed until the end.
The add I remeber from Ford was when we saw it first on the Raid, the sound of the V8 was awesome. There were no speeding, or hoonish behaviour and not states, just the sound. I loved it.
