gday peoples,
yesterday a friend informed me that he thinks there has been a change to car floats . he seems to think that you now need a tow truck drivers licence to use/tow them, and a hefty fine may apply. can anyone shed some light on this. steve

no way. if the car can tow the weight legally you can to it on unresricted licence. Check towbar for weight.

so my 100 series lancruiser with a tow bar stamped 3500kgs should be ok with a dual axle trailer weighing 520kg with a 1990gvm .
xb weighs 1460 according to rego papers

In Qld as far as I know you don't need a special licence to tow a car on a trailer. Unless there some new rule that has just been brought out.
