Hey guys,
Posted this in the ute section but then thought it might be more suitable to put it in the pub. I'm in the market for a new ute for work. Just a bit of background. I work for a pool servicing company (PM me if you need any work done!!) and currently drive a BA Falcon XL on dedicated gas. The ute is giving us a lot of flak at the moment and the time is nearing to replace it. Looking for something with a bit more gusto, and hence am looking at the XR6 or XR8. Generally carry around 300 to 400 kgs at any one time, with the potential of carrying upwards of 550 + a trailer. It will be fitted with aftermarket roll-bars (front and back) and also with a hardcover. Just after a few opinions. - What is the FG drive like compared to the BA/BF? I'm looking for an upgrade, rather than just a move to a similar car. It's not going to be on E-gas anymore, as it's costed us a lot of money to replace (2x) gas converters in 18 months. - How are the trays in the FG compared to that of the VE holden series? - Given the choice, would you guys choose the Ford or Holden, and which variant of each would you choose for the intended purpose? Many thanks in advance guys, Regards, RJ
