the EA in general, or the convertible that is for sale here? I don't know why the Edsel would be so popular, my vision of it places it in a similar category, albeit not quite as bad, as the Corvair

there is more than a hint of sarcasm in there mate. you will get used to me.

i dont know of any model in history that has had a bad wrap from day one...and somehow it came good.

This convertible EA for will catch the eye of someone very close to what you described. that part is serious...

Convertible conversion looks better than that Comm-esque bodykit. I reckon it kind of looks like an oversized Capri.

Actually, I have to say that barbie girl song came to mind when I first saw it : I'd say it's more to that kind of styling!

we all bag the EA but think about it don't they have similar lines to a BA falcon which is a widely loved car? similar shaped tail lights from the rear on similar shaped headlights and positioning - ok I let you think about that one

IMO the EA was a great looking car. They went 6 years with only minor cosmetic changes, so basically that says a lot. That's why I like them.

As for the convertible, not a fan.

6 years??? Try 2. The only visible link between the EA and the EF and EL was the doors. EA26 had huge changes made to it during it's lifespan.

EA26 was actually 7 years, it came out in very late '87, through to late '94.

EF came out in 94, which is 6 (or 7) years after the EA came out, and you can't honestly say an ED looks that different from an EA? What I meant was before the EF came out, the facelifts were very minor.

i am a huge fan of the EA falcon... i've owned 3 of them.. very under rated car...
and i'm glad i'm not the only one who likens them to the look/shape of a BA...

as for the convertible.. i think it's kinda cool... 4 door convertible?.. i wouldn't imagine there are too many of those around... tho i'd like to see it with the roof up..
