Im not too sure which Yank mag it was (either Car & Driver or Motor Trend) but they compared the Mustang GT, Camaro SS and the Challenger. Even though the Mustang was heavily underpowered compared to the other 2, they thought it was the most fun out of them all, and came first in the comparison, with the Camaro second and Challenger third.

To be honest, I dont think I could live with the interior of the Camaro or Challenger.

Don't think it's under-tyred at all.

Even with Pirelli's P Zero's, you're always going to have a hard time getting a good launch when you have over 690Nm available.

And the poor launch would also account for the rather slow quarter mile time of 12.8@185kph...nevertheless, that GT500 is a monster!

The Camaro is a porky car, a legacy of its Australian-developed Zeta platform, which was deliberately over-engineered to ensure the Holden Commodore gained five-star ratings in the Australian NCAP crash tests.

Say what? Only the Executive got 5 stars, and only after making curtain airbags standard, which they aren't on the XT, which also, easily made 5 stars.

There is a good video review on BON where they compare the Hennese Camaro and the Shelby GT500 Mustang.
The Camaro outpowers the Stang,but surprisingly the Mustang gets the general nod for better handling and a better car to live with day to day.

Since when doe the VE Have poor Handling? It's a pretty average car in comparison with the FG's but from my experience of driving them they have had pretty good brakes/handling for a car in it's price range, to me you sound like just hater and never driven one.

Crap engines though lol I would take the Mustang!

It does seem to tramp badly. The problem isn't the fact that it's a live axle. Indeed it is a 3-link, a very competent rear suspension design, certainly better than most production independent rear suspensions IF the links are long enough. In the Mustang, they aren't...
