+1 again. Forget the GOR...........blanket 80kph speed limit was introduced a few years ago and that was just about curtains for it as a drivers road. Throw in a few campervans towed by people who evidently never notice the line of 300 cars backed up behind them, and well, you get the picture.

The Dean's Marsh rd is much better. Some good flowing stuff through the foothills (watch those mid-corner bumps!), then tightens considerably through the twisty mountain stuff when you gain some altitude. For god's sake though, keep to your side of the road. In my last trip I twice had to almost put 2 wheels in the dirt to avoid clowns who drifted around bends. Not sliding, just not paying attention.

Black Spur and the St Andrews Rd's very good- but very bare now due to the fires, also the Chum Creek rd from healesville to Toolangi.

The road from Romsey to Tooborac is also great, perhaps the Harkaway Rd over near Upwey as well

If you don't mind a little gravel-based stuff, then it has to be the Grand Ridge Road between Warragul and Willung South.

Is the whole of Great Alpine Rd sealed? Google maps doesn't zoom in enough in remote areas. Looks like a great road.

Yep, sealed the whole way. Best parts (IMHO) are from Bruthen to Ensay, and then Mount Hotham to Harietville. Harietville through to Wangaratta is pretty broing.....

Am hoping to drive this next month on the way back from Sin City. has anyone actually done it yet (it only 'opened' mid last year iirc)? Autumn would be the preferable - and more beautiful - time to drive it imo.
