Your missing out on heaps, as its been chopped out massively, there is loads of the episode missing.

Best bet is to download directly off final gear.

Also you wont have to deal with heaps of ads in there as well.

15 minutes of ads in the first hour, not quite as bad as expected.

Only Fifteen?

I'm glad I bought the Olympics package on Foxtel. Top Gear is a repeat for me anyway - finalgear is a god send, now more than ever.

You can stream it, but you need to pay for it (which i dont want to)

Its usually up on a rapidshare website i use within a few minutes of it being aired, so since i have a full membership on there, i get max speed.

Other torrent programs are usually just as quick, but your scrambling for bandwidth over other savvy users.

Not sure if this sort of chatter is allowed, so I'll tread carefully.
A lot of people use torrent programs to download tv shows and movies.
Personally, I have a rapidshare account and download from that. Once someone has uploaded it to their account, they post the links at certain forums, and then I, and whoever else, can download the shows.
I never stream anything.
Download the avi file, put on usb stick, plug into avi/divx compatably dvd player, and watch/pause/rewind it, in the comfort of my freshly chewed up recliner chair, (friggin dog), until my hearts content.

Its on a free to air channel in the UK, so i cant see why it shouldnt be allowed.

But yes for the small fee Rapidshare charges its totally worth it over torrents, its faster, you wont have DRM issues and in most cases the files are cleaner.

Yep.

But bear in mind its not Channel 9 that has chopped it, its BBC, as if your an avid listener, the music is different compared to the UK's version.

Its the same chopped up old garbage, just on another channel.

If you are a keen TG follower, you acquire it off the internet, ontime and complete.

It was pretty much exactly what I was expecting from Nine. Like others here I an a huge fan of Final Gear, and already have Season 14 in it's entirety.

You have to say you all knew about it being on channel 9 and how butchered it would be because of their advertising, channel 9 would have adverts at their own funeral.

It wasnt butchered by channel 9.

It was all done by BBC, because of music copyrights etc, but channel 9 still axed both the news and the SIARPC.

Another vote of the internet. Some of the best bit are the jokes and random chatter. However thats the first stuff to go.

The BBC is not a free to air channel. In the UK, if you have a colour TV you have to pay a yearly license fee. They have detectors in vans that somehow pick you up for not paying. That money pays for all the excellent BBC content meaning they dont need adverts to pay for it all. Channel 9 would have to buy the rights to air TG, and the money required is acquired through advertising during the shows.
The other channels in UK (that are not part of sky/foxtel) have adverts in them just like free to air here. The license fee only goes to the BBC.

How did they axe SIARPC, it was Eric Bana and he set the fastest lap time for a wet track.

Sorry a correction

The Eric Bana interview was chopped (cut out the Australia Vs England bickering they were flogging in the adverts prior).

The bit when James has a go at Richard, after the Dacia Sandero is ploughed into by the truck = cut.

The epic driving on an epic road, in Romania = severely chopped to hell.

Absolutely.....
I have the last 4 seasons in their entirety straight off FinalGear
As yakabot said, straight onto a USB, into my PVR and onto the bigscreen.
No ads, full content etc, etc...

Brilliant.

I think this thread goes to highlight the delay between broadcasts from here and England.

Australian broadcasters need to pull a finger out and get these shows on within 24 hours afterwards otherwise they will be left behind when we finally get ourselves decent internets.

Well I ain't going to say, "I told you so" or "You should have known better"

I'll leave the best comment from the man himself......JC

"We all know that small cars are good for us. But so is cod liver oil. And jogging"

Somehow rather fitting in the case of CH9
