Default 0-100 times

I know some people will rubbish me when i say this but im fixated on 0-100 times. i have a running compition with my other bogan mates with falcons and im always looking up what cars i could and could not beat mainly for when the melvin in the commadore pulls up beside me at the lights. i know there are many variables but if people want to share what theyve done to ther coon and an honost semi accurate 0-100 i could see where im at with mine. ive videod mine a number of times on a flat out of the way road at night then timed it and gotten a constant 6.8 with the mods in my sig.

Don't worry, you're not the only one interested in 0-100 times. I've done a couple of runs for the fun of it to find out. After all, there's no better feeling than acceleration!

I recall my old VK commodore achieving something like a 14 second 0 - 100... then I jumped in my AU, from memory it was around 9 seconds.

Haven't tried the v8 yet as I'm not game enough however I know for sure that an xr6t would clean me up until the highway :(

So your gizmo reckons you launched your 2 tonnes of tin from 0-100 in 3.15 seconds then at 1/8 mile (200m) 8.36 seconds after launch you were doing 153km/h while 4.2 seconds later you were at 400m but only going 7km/h faster?

Is it still under warranty...........

160km/h at the end of the qtr in a Boss car suggests a 14 sec qtr.

seems like he has accelerated hard, and backed off just before 1/8mile and kept it steady till 1/4mile. At 155km/h itll take about 4.5 seconds to complete another 200m, which seems viable.

Yep most 400m runs are done like that......

Especially ones that are quicker 0-100 than almost all supercars ever made including those with more power and less weight.

If it is working from the OBD11 output it will not take wheelspin into account.

I'll only say this once, you can not get an accurate time from a video. Not even for comparisons sake. There are many variables and to many things to consider. May as well guess or use a stopwatch!

Even using a g meter can give bad readings if not done correctly

0 to a 100 is only a small performance measurement, some cars don`t even start to crank up until 100 or more, it annoys me when road tests are conducted with 0 to 100 only.

Yeah I dont even look at that measurment anymore. 100 is gone so quickly. Quarter mile is where its at for acceleration test.

Ok so to answer the OP's question and get this thread back on track, I've hand timed my AU S3 XR8 manual to 100 several times, mostly around 7.2 due to a ginger launch and slow 1-2 change due to bad crunch when fast change. The one time I really gave it to it on the change, it chirped pretty hard and pulled 6.6s. All timed at the same highway location on a slight incline with a dubious launch.

Car is standard apart from random custom exhaust that sounds awesome (half appears to be 2.5 mandrel bent, other half more like 2.25 press bent) and Bridgestone Adrenalins.

Other times to ad:
Stock EL Falcon Wagon (4.0 Auto) 9.1s
Stock EL Fairmont Sedan (4.0 Auto) 9.0s
Stock EL Falcon Sedan (4.0 column Auto) 8.6s
Stock BA XR6 Sedan (4.0 Auto) 7.2s

All cars of family or friends, timed repeatedly by hand on similar (if not the same) road conditions.

The wagon eventually ran faster than the Fairmont after I discovered that it up-shifted at 5400 when in D, got a car length advantage holding it in 1st slightly longer. Never timed it though. Fairmont probably would have done the same anyway.
