Tracking Previous Owners and a Previous Car

hey everyone, so im awake and im bored!!

my BA has been running like rubbish longer then i can remember. its been blowing fault codes for months etc etc, my mate asked me to bring it into his work at an un named ford dealership over his lunch break last week.

he hooked it up to the computer and it blew 3 codes, O2 Sensor dead, TPS sensor dead (will be easy replacements). but the interesting bit is it showed a code saying the car had a custom tune through it. he uploaded the latest stock tune to the car and its been the best week of owning the car!!!.

so now im wondering, why does an old lady living in country WA feel the need to tune an XR6? i have to know!!. ive got a few details in the owners manual im going on. will ford or the selling dealer be able to help me? or will it breach their privacy laws etc etc.

while were on it im also chasing my old car down again now my uncle has time to repair it, we know it went through auction over a year ago and was bought by a ford dealer. bought with a personal loan and then smashed with no insurance. this car has been sitting for a year now with its rego not renewed but its orignal plates still attached, it has pretty heavy front panel damage but its whereabouts remain a mystery. how would i go about finding that?

Are you sure the XR6 was a one owner??

Ring DPI they can send out a letter to the current/previous owners and if they want to contact you they can, however it will cost you. I did it in Adelaide about $25 a letter

Kind of obvious but have you checked the books for the car? In the past I have contacted previous owners this way.

previous address is a caravan park in Esperance, owner has since moved on.

theres 5 people with the same name in WA according to white pages 1 living 3 streets away from the dealer i bought the car from. i thought that may be worth a try?

A BA throwing a code for a tune, didn't think that was possible?

Are your sure the dealer that flashed the new std tune isn't talking out his @$$?

Could it be possible that 'little old lady' was a bogus selling point, or if not that she didn't know the car had the fault. I mean how many owners do you reckon get diagnostics carried out on there car. Maybe it was being sold because they weren't happy with the performance/running and none the wiser why it was rough?
Probably best to just suck it up and move on, you'll just end up getting ******** excuses.

my mate did it at ford during his lunch break, apparently they can tell if the cars been tuned (this helps them void warrantys).

service books deffinately state a lady owner. keen to look into it a bit more
