Default Lexus LF-LC RWD concept

Quote:
Though the 2013 Lexus GS sedan has already taken the Lexus brand in a new--and we think positive--design direction, the future beyond the GS is being previewed this week with the new LF-LC Concept, penned in the company's Calty design studio.

"The concept we're showing here in Detroit continues the Lexus design revolution started with the CT and GS," said Lexus group vice president and general manager Mark Templin.

So what is this new direction? As you can see from the images, the exterior is dynamic, with lots of glass and complex curved surfaces. The interior focuses on high tech contrasted with shapes and materials derived from organic sources. While the extensive use of glass isn't likely a production-intent element, the general themes, shapes, and details are likely to be found in the next round of product updates at Lexus.

The nose, particularly the grille, headlights, and bumper styling, are especially likely to find production use, as the 2013 GS already exhibits similar features. For less dramatically-styled cars, expect to see cues that reference the LF-LC's design, including mesh grilles, L-shaped daytime running lights, and vertical fog lamps.

Inside, the cockpit is clearly driver-focused, with scooped side panels and a curved console centering the attention on the behind-the-wheel seat. Touchscreen controls through a pair of 12.3-inch LCD panels enable easy driver input without distracting from the road--or at least that's the intent.

AMERICA STOP WITH THE RUBBISH CHROME RIMS...yes I am shouting, their a loud bunch. What they rollin on 30's now?

Cant say I like Toyota's design language at the moment, its almost trying to hard. The general shape is ok but the front and rear dont do anything for me.

I think it looks OK......very smooth and integrated. Not too many unique characteristics.........but then again.........it is a TOYOTA very deep down.

here's a front on shot which shows how FAT it looks - This type of car will look 100% better in the flesh methinks.

That must be either a small bloke, or a big car. The door is longer than him.

Or he could be standing a lot further back, and the car (which is a rwd) could be on a (raised) platform.
