Hey guys!
Was cruising around Facebook and stumbled across a page called Chasing Old Cars. http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Cha...50551845034888 At first I thought it was just another car page - but have a look at this! I've never heard about this one???? XR GT Barn Find: and SAVED by someone But also - This photo caught my eye: XY GT's Sleeping: And then this one - looks like ?? No it couldn't be - COULD IT?? I've now 'liked' them, hopefully there will be more!! How have we not heard about these ones??? PS - There's also a few Holdens on there too... Monaros, Toranas, etc...

Just love barn finds. The XR looks like all it needs is a wash and it would be all good.

That one of the XY GT's sleeping looks suspiciously like the South African GT Fairmonts, I could be wrong.

I saw this too, i am a fan of the chasing old cars. Far out... how does someone leave a car like an XR GT, or an XY GT etc for decades without at least putting a cover over it?

They have bumper overriders, not many cars had in RSA if any from memory. No vinyl roofs.... most RSA cars had, yes, not all. Wheels..... look like 12 slots? or 5 slots.... not rhino style caps. Turkey perch (spoiler) not available apart from a couple of cars perhaps in RSA. oh.... they have a stripe on the side! doubt if they are rhinos, maybe even replicas or the real deal. Mick.

Does anyone know any more about this XR GT?- I'd be interested to know the story behind it - ie why it sat so long, who found it and how they found it, and how much it sold for (if it did change hands..) - just keen to know as I've been tracking XR GT's advertised/sold over the last few years..
