Yeah, they should import brand new Australian cars. Then we could stop all the talk about the falcon dying. They import cars over, interest grows over the falcons/Commodores and people demand the cars. Then, all of a sudden, a new, 300 million person market opens up.

I don't have a problem in exporting the new Falcon or Commodore. Infact i would love to see the aussie cars being made and exported overseas. But as a muscle car enthusiast and IMO the aussie classic muscle cars should stay here, so other enthusiasts can own and enjoy a bit of Australian Muscle Car History.

^^ surely thats not true. I am from NZ, we have thousands of American cars over here, in fact Falcons arent that well valued or thought of over here. It kind of annoys me, my car is quicker than a lot of mustangs etc but people still think it's only an XC Falcon. It always amazes me when I come over to OZ how few American imports I see there. That site has some pretty cool stuff on it though I thought.

I don't see the problem as long as they take care of them over there like we do to their classic cars here. There's hardly that many cars that get taken over there compared what get brought here.

Australia has more classic mustangs that any other country outside America.

Come on...they're hardly national treasures, they're just cars.

One important point...if you don't want to see them go offshore, stump up the bucks and buy the car yourself instead...

Its a pity a lot of the 60's Mustangs have been butchered

Engine swaps, power-steering, aircon [not Pless] , disk brakes etc even converting it to RHD, not interested [as is the market] unless its genuine with matching numbers.

Its never going to be a daily drive, so leave as it came out of Detroit

Oh, and always buy the BEST one not a cheap s**tbox and then spend zillions trying to get it right etc.
