Default Licensed parts for older falcs

I was reading an article in my local paper which has a small cars guide section that ford and rare spares have done a deal to sell licensed ford parts through rare spares for xk-xf falcons it also said that ford will let rare spares use all there old tooling.

So does this mean these will essentially be actual new old original parts that will fit without dramas my cousin is doing an xw at the moment and some of the parts from the gt shops or old car parts places such as rare spares are very pricey and don't fit all that well without mucking around with them

Finally they've realised there is a lucrative market for their own parts... about time.

How long before Holden follow suit?

I don't think any of the panel tooling is still in existence. Certainly for Holden nothing pre-VR/VS is still around

Ah no... unless the orginal tooling exsists then nothing will change.

What the issue is i think is litigation when aftermarket suppliers sell stuff as a "ford" part when its a repo.

In the USA a few yrs back there was court action start almost when they tried to sell those new mustang bodies. Its illegal to sell them as a "mustang". A deal was struck with Ford back then and same with parts in the USA there is a company authorised to use the Ford logo on their repo parts etc...

They will be reproduction parts, no tooling exists for anything before EA. EA - EL Doors are still available, EF - EL Hoods and guards. All the EA-B-D Falcon and Fairlane skin tooling (guards, decklid and hoods) was scrapped just before FG launch.

What ever tooling is left can be used by 3rd party businesses or parts can be produced under licensing with out any problems but as mentioned by OP it depends on who will & what can be practicably manufactured
