Those who have accumulated unpaid fines will be concerned that at these roadblocks are the sherrifs office vehicles....no place to hide now it seems.

Rising costs of Rego = more unregistered cars
IMO the more rego/licence/outstanding fine checks the better.

I come across 3 unmarked cop cars with people pulled over on the way home, and on Melbourne speed camera locations on Facebook, there is something new popping up every 5 minutes with police sightings etc.
Must be on an operation tonight. |

Outstanding parking fines are also a target via the sherrifs office.

This is common over Melbourne doing RBT, RWC with the Sherrifs for unpaid fines using wheel clamps, in fact I have spotted sherrif cars trolling carparks outside vendor stores using mobile recognition camera to identify outstanding unpaid fines.

Where's the Princess Hwy? I've searched and there's no such road.

Well it would be ok if the Sherriff was armed with accurate information, but of course their not.
I came out of work to find my car clamped and a Sherriff demanding $3k for citylink... When I explained that the matter had been settled 3 years ago, and that Citylink had admitted fault, of course they had no record. So when Citylink was contacted, they politely said "No problem, we'll check the records" "Only problem is, those records have been archived and we have no staff to check them, so we will require around 6 weeks to get back to you......" Can you speak to the Department of Justice and inform them of that? "Sorry, due to privacy reasons, only you can speak to DOJ regarding your issues...................." Are you bloody serioussssssssssssssssssssssssssssss?????????????? ? Now add to that the recontacting of Justice Vic, blah blah blah and the whole concept of having private organisations issue fines and another misinformed department enforce them ***** me to tears! /end rant

So it's greed for them to chase up parking fines that have not been paid? No it's not - that's called process. Had the person not parked illegally, no fine would have been issued. I wonder how many cars were held up because the person being chased for payment of the fine was origainally booked for parking in a no stopping zone, a no parking zone, a handicapped zone with no permit or a clearway, across someone's driveway, etc? I wonder if you were one of the people held up by their selfish act. But go on, have a general uninformed whinge about govco - it's the popular thing to do apparently.

This isn't about holding people to account who genuinely cause loss or harm to others, this is sheer, unadulterated money grubbery:

As above.
I think he's just taking the **** mate because a lot of people pronounce and spell it as the female form 'Princess' when it was actually named after a Prince. |

I wonder what % of road blocks involve the sherrifs presence.
