That's the ad the briefly shows an abandoned Kombi. Makes you wonder why they abandoned it if VWs are such good cars. If Ford were to use a similar ad, as long as they don't copy the song, it would be ok.

If Ford did that, they would stop short of mentioning the Falcon and Territory anyway.

Although saying that, I have seen a few ads very recently that has the Terri, but never the Falcon however.

"Abandoned"...? Nope...looks to me like a loved old family friend who they couldn't bear to get rid of when they outgrew it. Also, it kind of speaks to the longivety of them when you see so many old Kombis on the road thirty or forty years after they were built...

Love that advert! Especially the bit about "nanna's meeting Bradleys special friend", and the polite half-smile look on her face...priceless!

It is a clever ad that can pretty much showcase the whole range in 30 seconds.
Genius.

A good advertisment well thought out and targeted at their market.
Tongue in cheek bit now; did anyone see a tombstone or ghost for the loved one killed after the gearbox shut down the car in the fast lane!

Something like this print ad maybe?

From back when the Falcon led the Aussie market and you didn't need a SUV of some type to carry more than 4 people.

Taken from this thread; Ford Australia limited/special edition runs

Only if you're happy with a bench seat and column shift...and a lot of extras left out to keep the price down. I remember looking at an XE "Family Pack" when they were brand new, and it was cheap for a reason...vinyl seats, rubber floor mats, column shift, just a radio, bench seat, wind up windows, no air con or power steering, basically "one without the lot", but it was really really cheap compared to a "normal" Falcon wagon.

I know it is said tongue in cheek, and so is this, but the car didnt shut down because of the gearbox.

Back to the Ad, awesome Ad, and really encapsulates the Volkswagen Brand and community as a whole. Having owned a GTI, I can tell you it is exactly like being apart of family/Car Club that is just there. Great Ad

this is so true, cant remember the last time I saw a falcon ad, fords target market seems to be, emasculated males in a territory and ditzy early 20s females in a focus with the main selling feature a shoe compartment.

strange how? have you heard of the term "target market". Of course, if you arent that way inclined, you will think its strange!
I like the ad, the music is offbeat and has a dark side-real earworm stuff.
I only "got" the bradleys special friend reference tonight. This type of big spend whole of brand ad tells me VW AUS are really trying to hit back at all the negative press they got recently. Ive only been in front of the idiot box for 2 hours and i can tell you:
Polo-15990
Golf-22990
Tiguan-27990
Ad Money well spent!

They must also be trying to attract more buyers by reducing the prices. I remember spending around $24,000 on my wifes Polo 7 years ago, and it wasn't even the top model.

I bet they wont say how much the service costs are, including the cost of replacing the timing belts and water pump when they are due.
