Yeah I saw that on trade me last night. Amazing how that has been kept in a dehumidified cocoon. Gotta give that guy respect for his efforts, im sure he is a bit more than disappointed he has to sell it.

By the way that same seller had another el gt on trade me a while back apparently that had been used, so don't write him off as a not far enthusiast. He actually works for Shane van gisbergen racing if you saw his profile. So he most likely is a car enthusiast.

I am not a fan of these but if I had the spare dollars I would make an offer but I do know I would not be able to help myself and take it for a spin every month at a minimum. The NZ car would be my preference but does not appear to be as well optioned as the OZ car. |

I wonder if Ford would still allow the first service for free as the ad states;
"still due for its first free 1500km service" |

A car that does not lose value is investment by car standards if you think about it!

I feel sorry for the bloke, having such a special car and basically not driving it for 17 years.

This has done more kms, but still looks very well cared for and you can bet the owner has had much more enjoyment from his car. More than 200,000 kms of enjoyment.http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/de.../?Cr=5&sdmvc=1

Crazy if you ask me.. dont drive it for 17 years, put it in a cocoon and then sell it to someone? What was the point of keeping it so new? The new buyer should do a big burnout as he drives off, blow out the cobwebs
but $76000 17 years ago is like $250000 now. How much have house prices gone up in that time? |

considering the free first 'service' consists of looking at the car, making sure it still has tyres, oil and coolant, then taking it out on the road for a test drive (read: hoon) while stone cold... yes, I'm sure they will do that for free.

Not so long ago I was at my mechanics and he had an EL GT that the owner had just paid over 50k for. He was getting a complete fluids and 100% of the car checked out. It was mint. LOVED it. Can't remember the Kay's it'd done as it's not that important to me either....I'd drive it
Oh yeah I forgot, we were also behind a nice EL GT with the number plate ELGT two days ago. |

Loved those photos...only thing missing was the new car smell, had to go grab the Auto Kolone and sniff it whilst drooling...

Good luck to him and any potential buyer, personally if it were me looking at spending 75-100k on a Ford GT it wouldn't be an e series as much as I like EL Falcons I'd rather own a XA or XB GT. At least its an awesome colour.

If this owner held onto this car for another 10 years it would def appreciate. Though i think it would be healthy for the car to be driven a bit more. |

Burgundy is the most common colour, second is Heritage Green and rarest is Navy Blue.
