So my car got very hot (into the red, just) I brought a leak down tester in hopes of confirming blown head gasket or not.
So got a Toledo leak down tester, all cylinders are all right with no bubbling through coolant. However it seems the regulator on the tester limits pressure to 50 PSI. Will this be enough to show a blown head gasket? Thanks, Brad

Leak down tester wont help with a head gasket.
They are for checking rings , valves etc. You need to get a C0 test done for a head gasket. |

Interesting all leak down testers I have seen have on the packaging head gasket test and there are heaps of videos on YouTube but some of the testers went up to 100 psi.

I'd be looking at other things for an overheat before head gasket. Does the fan work? Fluid level? Hoses all okay? What sort of driving were you doing at the time?

Fans weren't working overheated at idle when wasnt in the car. Retarding timing and all, used one of the fluid testers that you put on top of radiator and suppose to detect combustion gases. Only issue is when car is shut down I can now hear the top hose bubbling, when running its fine.

you may just have air in the system from when it overheated. Run the degas part of the fill procedure to clear the air. I'm not sure what it is for this, but get the car hot and give it some revs. Should be info on line.
