Default 2015 Demolition derby cars

These are the 2 cars that my students are preparing for the demolition derby at the Beaudesert show this year. The AUs livery will be an attempt to replicate Moffat's 1979 Federation colours and the Camry will have stylised Carnivale themed skulls...

I fully understand smashing the Camry up - destroying it even; but not quite so the AU.

But good luck with it all anyway.

Everytime I see something about demolition derby cars I alway think of this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demolition_derby#Vehicles
Quote:
The 1964-1966 Chrysler Imperial achieved near-legendary status for its crashworthiness, and is still banned from most derby events.
These early sixties Imperials were basically a unibody car sitting ontop of a full chassis .. can you say "strong"?

If I can do this to an old 80s Fairlane and an XB ute, I don't think any AU that crosses my path will be shown any mercy!

Poor XB ute.

If you can see it, you can fix it.

But are you really fixing it? Or just building another.

Poor AU. Would much prefer a few VN's, Camiras, and even a busted up VE in police livery would be nice..

Unfortunately it is mainly Fords that I seem to end up with. I would much rather destroy Commodores...

My missus has an unregistered 1998 Holden Vectra in my back garden, that is the end I'd like to see for it. As long as it never darkens my door step again I'd be a happy mick.

Personally I'd prefer it was set on fire and the remains compacted and fired into the sun, but I can only afford the first part.

And true to form, our latest donated vehicle is an EL Futura on gas. Not sure what its fate will be at this stage but if anyone needs lights or the stuff I won't need, PM me...

Falcons are a dime a dozen, especially in EL and AU form. Smash away!

The AU does not like the high pressure external fuel pump as it will not start. Ran fine with the in tank pump. I used the external pump on the EL last year with no worries and the V something Commodore the year before that. Can they stuff up if not being used for long periods of time?

Haha yeah. That's why I gotta stock up on as many parts as I can before all potential parts sources are destroyed.

OP, have fun! AU's go hard. Those camry's are okay, avoid side impact to front wheels. That looks like an unrusty AU, bit of a shame considering nearly all are rusty but hey. Life cycle of a car.

If it's left with contaminated fuel in it... I pulled a Walbro pump out while I de-rusted my fuel tank, by the time I refitted the pump it had turned into an inanimate lump. I assume the fuel inside the pump had rust particles in it, which remained inside the pump as the fuel evaporated.

I'd best buy a new pump then...

Step right up folks!! Let me take you on a ride in the demolition derby prepared Camry. Experience the ball busting terror of the Camry's exhilarating acceleration. 0 to 20ks in at least 5 seconds. Thrill to the roar of an angry V6 being driven in a moderately sensible fashion.

Warning: Women and young children or those with a fragile constitution should avoid the sensory danger of this Camry cutting a lap in the test paddock...
